Maintenance
Keeping your amp running as designed will involve some maintenance. Electrolytic capacitors used in the cathode bypass positions, power supply filters, and bias circuits will require periodic replacement. This does not have to destroy your tone. We can measure the drifte values of the component and replace it with a component of similar value if you desire. We can also return the amp back to spec with factory values or modern day equivalents if that value of component is no longer available.
The labor fee for the Cap Jobs, as they are called, is based upon the amp and for a reference is $115.00 for a blackface and $95.00 for a plexi type amplifier. The number of caps and degree of difficulty in replacing the caps determines the fee.
Tube replacement and rebiasing will restore lost tone and dynamics of your amp. You can send your favorite tubes, or get your tubes through us at dealer prices. We will replace tube and rebias your amp. We will send the old tubes back with the amp.
The labor fee is based on the amp and for a reference is $30.00 for blackface and $30.00 for plexi type amps.
We also retension/replace tube sockets, replace power cords, and pilot lights.
